Sargassum is a uniquely challenging biomass due to intermittent, seasonal and unpredictable arrivals. Furthermore sargassum rots within hours of hitting the shore.
Stakeholders like beachfront resorts and marinas are already paying to keep their beaches clean need something to do with the seaweed, SANDS's systems allows stabilization and later valorization of the material. This reduces operating costs for the hotel or marina and with the value of the material, the system pays for itself.
